Sunday's message explored Matthew 19:7-8, where the Pharisees questioned Jesus about Moses permitting divorce, and used that exchange as a lens through which to examine how God works in and through hardened hearts. Drawing on the broader story of Moses — from the cries of Israel in Egypt to the wilderness journey — the message reminded us that God is not only the God of broken hearts who hears our cries, but also the God who sovereignly works even through hearts hardened by Pharaoh, by hardship, and by home life. Ultimately, the sermon called us to stop trying to melt what only heaven can handle, to persevere through difficulty, and to let even our hardened hearts put Jesus to the test — trusting that he came to restore everything lost from the beginning.​
