Privacy Policy

Crossroads African Methodist Episcopal Church Inc.

This policy describes how Crossroads African Methodist Episcopal Church Inc. ("Crossroads," "we," "our") collects, uses, protects, and handles personal information, including information used for SMS text messaging. This policy applies to information provided through church activities, communications, and online forms.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect names, mobile and other telephone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, church participation information, inquiries, and communication preferences when individuals voluntarily provide them. For SMS communications, we may maintain a record of consent, opt-in method, and opt-out requests.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to communicate about worship services, church membership and visitor follow-up, ministry activities, community events, pastoral care, scheduling, and responses to inquiries. We use mobile numbers for SMS only when appropriate consent has been obtained.

3. SMS Messaging and Consent

Individuals may opt in to receive SMS messages from Crossroads African Methodist Episcopal Church Inc. through a consent process offered by the church. Providing a telephone number alone does not automatically constitute consent to recurring text messages. Consent to SMS messaging is not a condition of church membership or participation.

Messages may include worship reminders, ministry announcements, event coordination, new-member follow-up, pastoral communications, and responses to inquiries. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of future text messages or HELP for assistance. For assistance, call (317) 515-6414. An opt-out request will be honored, except for a confirmation of the opt-out or messages otherwise permitted by law.

4. SMS Consent and Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Crossroads African Methodist Episcopal Church Inc. does not sell or rent mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information. Messaging service providers may process information solely to deliver requested communications on our behalf, subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations, and not for their own marketing.

5. Other Information Sharing

We may use service providers to operate church communications and administrative systems. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the safety and rights of individuals. We do not sell personal information.

6. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, and disclosure. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for church operations, communication preferences, applicable recordkeeping obligations, and legitimate administrative purposes. SMS opt-out preferences may be retained to honor future requests not to text.

8. Your Choices and Requests

You may request correction or updating of your contact information or ask about your communication preferences by contacting the church. You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.

9. Third-Party Websites

Church communications may link to websites operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page.
